FAQ's

Q. Are the plates food safe?

A. Yes

Q. Are your plates dishwasher safe?

A. Yes

Q. Why are there tiny cracks in my glazed plate?

A. Tiny cracks are called "crazing". This can occur when a plate goes from one extreme temperature to another. Such as a refrigerator to a microwave, or a hot dishwasher into the cold air. Some dishwashers are high pressure washers that can cause "crazing"

Q. Can I microwave this plate?

A. You can in short intervals, however be sure not to take it from the refrigerator to the microwave, to prevent the crazing.

Q. Can I put this plate in my dishwasher?

A. Yes, we suggest hand washing to extend the life of your hand painted piece, but you may put it in the dishwasher. Some dishwashers are high pressure or use very hot water. This may cause crazing.

Q. We ordered a plate a few years ago, but I don't see the design, can I still get the old design?

A. Unfortunately when a plate design is retired, you cannot. Our painters are only trained on our current designs and it slows production time down when they have to do a special design

Q. Can you remake a broken plate for us?

A. We can remake any of our current designs. We will do our best to remake your plate, but slight variations in design may occur. Each plate could have slight differences in color or design.

Q. The colors on the plate don't seem to be the same as the website, how come?

A. Computer screens are limited in the colors that can be seen with the eye. Depending on how each computer is calibrated can effect what the design looks like. The colors should not have a huge difference, but a pink may appear brighter on the screen, or an orange may appear red.

Q. There is a tiny fleck of paint on the white part of my plate, will you repaint?

A. Flecks of paint are a natural occurrence with ceramics. Slight flecks may not always be seen to the naked eye before firing. The firing process intensifies the colors, so what you don't see before, may show up after you fire. We will determine repaints on a case by case scenario. But in most cases, this will not be cause for a repaint. If we feel a plate needs to be repainted, we repaint the plate before we even ship the first one.

Q. There is a bubble in the glaze, can you repaint my plate?

A. Bubbles in glaze are a natural occurrence with ceramics. It is a result of gases being released from the ceramics during the firing process. Minor flaws and slight variations are a natural occurrence with ceramics and hand painted work. These minor differences add to the uniqueness of your item.

Q. Can I cancel my order?

A. Unfortunately once your order has been started, it cannot be cancelled. Since these items are personalized, we are unable to cancel an order or accept returns.

Q. There are tiny lines on the edge of my melamine plate, what is this?

A. These lines are caused because a flat piece of art is being pressed into a curved rim. So tiny lines are unavoidable. Paper plates have these same lines.
